Description
This paper will explore only two specific aspects of the improve microarchitecture of the “Zen” processor that is in the AMD Ryzen PC processor: the symmetric multithreading (SMT), and the advanced branch prediction logic. These are two of many improvements the AMD design team made in its new “Zen” cores.
