Research Independence & AI Policy
Independent analysis, clearly disclosed.
The standards that govern what TIRIAS Research publishes — who pays for what, who controls the conclusions, and where AI is and isn't involved.
Our opinions are our own
TIRIAS Research is an independent, analyst-owned research and advisory firm. Our published analysis reflects the professional judgment of our analysts — not the positions of any vendor, client, or sponsor. No client relationship entitles any company to favorable coverage, and no analyst is compensated based on the conclusions they reach.
Sponsored research is always labeled
Some of our published white papers are commissioned by technology vendors. Sponsorship funds the work of researching and writing on a topic — it does not purchase the conclusion. TIRIAS Research retains full editorial control over methodology, findings, and final text, and we decline engagements where that control is not accepted.
Every sponsored publication is labeled with its sponsor, on this site and in the document itself. Publications without a sponsor label are independent TIRIAS Research work.
Advisory work is confidential and separate
Advisory engagements, subscription research such as the GenAI FTCO service, and program execution support are delivered confidentially to clients and are distinct from our published research. When our advisory work and our published coverage touch the same companies, our published conclusions remain governed by this policy — analysts do not soften public analysis to protect commercial relationships.
When acting as an independent third party — for example in M&A evaluation — we disclose to the engaging client any relationship that could reasonably bear on our objectivity.
AI-assisted authorship, disclosed
TIRIAS Research operates two AI systems, Kestrel and Pulse, which monitor industry news flow, events, transcripts, and earnings and draft coverage for our free TIRIAS Insight newsletter. They are listed openly as AI Correspondents on our team page and their work is bylined as such.
Everything they draft is reviewed and edited by a TIRIAS Research analyst before publication. Paid deliverables — advisory work, subscription research, commissioned reports, and program support — are authored by our human analyst team. Analysts may use AI tools in their own workflow the way they use any research tool; responsibility for every published conclusion rests with the named human analysts and with TIRIAS Research.
